Prof. Timothy W. Tong, former President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Research Grants Council (RGC). On November 24, a lunch gathering was held at the Harbour Grand Kowloon, attended by representatives from Hong Kong Chuhai College, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Saint Francis University, Tung Wah College, and other institutions. During the event, Prof. Lo, Head of our Department, introduced our research projects to Prof. Tong, highlighting the application of artificial neural networks in solar panel monitoring.
Prof. Lo presented the research project “Photovoltaic panel model parameters estimation and monitoring by using artificial neural network” and explained the details to Prof. Tong.
