This competition aims to assess and incentivize cybersecurity talents, providing recognition and development opportunities for exceptional professionals. It also seeks to establish local standards and industry benchmarks related to the professional capabilities and role requirements of cybersecurity practitioners in Hong Kong.

The competition offers individuals interested in the cybersecurity industry the chance to obtain professional qualifications, knowledge, and pre-employment training aligned with job requirements. It aims to enhance the professional competence of cybersecurity professionals, focusing on ethics and skills. By establishing industry standards, the competition supports employers and professionals in improving their skills while recognizing and nurturing outstanding practitioners. Furthermore, it aims to drive the formulation of local or industry standards pertaining to cybersecurity professional capabilities and role requirements in Hong Kong.

The competition combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with theoretical knowledge accounting for 30% and practical skills accounting for 70% of the overall assessment.
