The Department of Computer Science organized a workshop on 23 January 2025. The workshop was about using AI in wearable devices that monitor health. It was held at Hall 3 on the ground floor.
Our guest speaker was Prof. Bingo Wing-Kuen Ling from Guangdong University of Technology. He is a Fellow of the IET and Senior Member of the IEEE. Prof. Ling is an expert in AI and biomedical signal processing.
The workshop began with an attendance check at 3:15 pm. Prof. Ling then gave a one-hour presentation starting from 3:30 pm. During his talk, he explained how AI can help analyze signals from our body to check our health.
After the talk, there was a wearable device demonstration from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm where students got to see real devices and learn how they work. The workshop ended with a discussion session from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm. During this time, students and teachers asked questions about AI in healthcare.
This workshop was part of the Capstone Project (RAI601) for Spring 2024/25 and the Expert Seminar Series in the MSAAI Programme. The Expert Seminar Series invites professionals to share their knowledge with students. This helps students learn about the latest developments in AI.
