Department of Computer Science successfully hosted a seminar as part of the RAI601 capstone project for the MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence program. The event featured Professor Fan Xiaodan from The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Department of Statistics, who delivered an insightful talk titled “The Current State of AI Development and Its Applications in Biomedicine.”
Professor Fan highlighted the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, discussing its data-driven nature, strengths, and limitations. Through practical case studies in biomedicine, she demonstrated how AI, combined with human intelligence, can address specific challenges in resource-limited scenarios. The seminar provided a valuable opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of AI’s transformative potential in interdisciplinary fields.
