A delegation from our College led by Vice President Prof. Robert Li, Head of Computer Science Prof. Lo Wai Lun, and Associate Registrar Dr. Tracy Lee recently visited Guangzhou Mayer Corp., a prominent leader in stainless steel piping manufacturing. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborations between academia and industry, focusing on research and development initiatives.
The delegation was given an in-depth tour of Guangzhou Mayer’s production facilities highlighting their advanced stainless steel piping systems and innovative manufacturing processes. The visit coincided with the launch of a new production system, where our delegation joined company representatives to commemorate this significant technological milestone.
Discussions were held between our representatives and Guangzhou Mayer’s senior management, emphasizing the importance of industry-academia collaboration. The delegation also visited Meiya’s showroom, which displayed an array of certifications and awards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and CNAS accreditations, underscoring the company’s adherence to international quality and safety standards. The discussions also explored opportunities in areas such as energy storage solutions, smart piping systems, and sustainable materials.
